Heres some movie trivia!

Beware there are spoilers! So make sure you watch the movies first before reading any further!

Bones and All

  • Maren's birth certificate says that she was born in Menomonie, WI. Wisconsin was the home of famous cannibal and serial killer, Jeffery Dahmer. Wisconsin is also where Ed Gein was from, another famous serial killer who was accused of cannibalism (though he denied this).

  • The film cast includes one Oscar winner: Mark Rylance; and two Oscar nominees: Timothée Chalamet and Chloë Sevigny.

  • Bones and All (2022) had its world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on September 2, 2022, where it won the Silver Lion for best direction and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Taylor Russell.

  • American artist Elizabeth Peyton was commissioned by director Luca Guadagnino to create a painting based on the film. The resulting painting, which she titled "Kiss (Bones and All)," was turned into the film's first poster, which was on display during the Venice International Film Festival, hanging on the 13th-century palace Ca' da Mosto in Venice.

Donnie Darko

  • At the wrap party for the film, Seth Rogen and Jake Gyllenhaal agreed that they had no idea what the movie was about.

  • The Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, CA - where the film's theater scenes were shot - has an annual tradition of playing Donnie Darko on Easter.

  • The movie was filmed over a period of 28 days - which matches the length of time depicted in the film.

  • Jake Gyllenhaal uses the strategy of rarely blinking to enhance his psychotic creepiness.

Inception

  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt performed all but one of his own stunts during the fight scene in the spinning hallway.

  • In the city scene on the first level of the dream with Fischer, the state motto on the license plates of the cars reads "The Alternate State".

  • Di Caprio turns in a fantastic performace as Cobb but, even more impressively, he played a major role in shaping the script and improving the character. Nolan said:

“Leo made some extraordinary contributions to the script and really challenged us to make the script clear, and also to follow its logic. The work he did on his character made the movie less of a puzzle and more of a story of a character audiences could relate to.”

Because of Di Caprio's suggestions, Nolan upped the personal drama stakes that surround Cobb around his children, and wanting to get back home.

Memento

  • An easter egg: The Limited Edition DVD (and the standard Region 2 edition) allows the movie to be watched in the exact chronological order of the events in the film. The first couple of scenes of the regular cut of the movie appear normal in this version, meaning they are not reversed. However, this version of the movie on Disc 2 is quite difficult to reach (the user must answer several questions and solve a puzzle), and forward, reverse, and chapter skip capabilities are disabled.

  • During Teddy's line "You don't have a clue, you freak!", director Sir Christopher Nolan felt that Joe Pantoliano (Teddy) did not quite nail the end of the line, so he decided to re-record the last two words to his liking, delivering them himself. Therefore, in the final film, the words, "you freak", as we hear them, are actually being said not by Pantoliano, but by Nolan impersonating Pantoliano's voice. Pantoliano was unaware of the dubbing until an interview for Memento (2001).

  • In addition to positive critical reviews, Memento enjoyed a wealth of commendations from the scientific community over its realistic depiction of memory loss disorders.

  • Jake Gyllenhaal uses the strategy of rarely blinking to enhance his psychotic creepiness.

Parasite

  • The Parks' house, said in the film to be designed by a fictional architect named Namgoong Hyeonja, was a set completely built from scratch.

  • According to editor Jinmo Yang, he edited the film in Final Cut Pro 7 - an editing program that Apple stopped supporting in 2011, on a computer that hasn't had a software update since 2014. He received an Oscar nomination for his work.

  • In the South Korean version, Ki-jung makes Ki-woo a fake diploma for Yonsei University, while in international versions, the fake diploma is for Oxford university. Bong Joon Ho felt that international audiences needed to understand the immaculate pedigree the fake resumé promised.

  • Stairs and vertical structures are a motif that runs through the entire film, which highlights the social divide between Parks and Kims. In fact, the director Bong Joon-ho called the project a "staircase movie" while filming it
